The state of the art medical facilities of Kaufman Eye Institute are among the most technologically advanced in Central Florida. Comprehensive eye examinations are done for both adults and children.
Some examples of the type of exams we do are state of the art cataract evaluations including potential acuity measurements, automated computerized A-scan (eye length measurement to predict lens power) or evaluation with ultrasound (B-scan) to image the eye and see problems that ordinary viewing methods can not detect.
Kaufman Eye Institute also enjoys the distinction of having a retinal vascular center in which digital fluorescein angiography is performed with a state of the art digital Zeiss system. This critical high-end technology device enables early detection and treatment of numerous eye disorders and is key to modern eye care. Sight threatening diseases can be evaluated in minutes.
Glaucoma and neurological problems can be quickly detected in our computerized Humphrey visual field machine. This new and improved method of measuring a patient's visual field takes a third of the time of the older machines and has better reliability.
Ocular coherence tomography can actually section the retina and optic nerve tissue giving unprecedented images and allows early diagnosis and better medical and surgical treatment options.
Numerous in office procedures are performed on site including cosmetic lid surgery, laser surgery for glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetes of the eye.
