Target Optical has 300 optical locations throughout the U.S. Primary Function: The basic function of the Optical Licensed Optician is to drive profitable sales growth and attract and retain guests for life by delivering exceptional Guest service. This must be accomplished through development of a positive and productive retail-selling environment that ensures premier Guest Service, Guest retention, as well as outstanding Optical Team/Doctor satisfaction. The essential functions of this position include the following: Â· Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail selling culture by practicing and role-playing effective retail sales skills Â· Develops professional business relationships with other Team Members Â· Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit and adapt lenses and frames, utilizing optical prescription Â· Ensure high quality/timely product manufacturing/fabrication Â· Dispense quality product Position requirements include: Â· Ability to grow sales through sales skills and accountability for sales results Â· Ability to provide enthusiastic and concise communication to meet/exceed Guest expectations as well as foster positive and results-oriented Optical Team, Doctor and host relationships Â· Demonstrated success in store merchandising and attention to detail Â· State licensure or certification by a nationally-recognized opticianary association as an optician Â· 2-3 years experience in a Retail Optical Department Â· Ability to verify visual acuity; Ability to analyze and interpret prescriptions and lens design; Ability to measure pupillary distances (distance and near), bifocal, trifocal, and progressive placement; Ability to select and measure frames for facial contour: eye size, bridge size, temple length; Ability to fit and adjust eyewear to the face and eyes; and Ability to dispense contact lenses Â· Experience with personal computers preferred To perform this just successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
